Thanks for the great shop tour. You’ve made great use of your space. I have a question about your band saw. I’ve been eyeing that exact model, but am concerned about the power. Any trouble getting through large logs? What kind of blade do you use? Also, does the HF lathe have enough power, or does it bog down?

  16. Got Wood Workshop

Thank you, I appreciate it! I really haven’t had any problems with the bandsaw getting bogged down. I cross cut 13″ wide osage orange logs on it and it did just fine! I was using a highland woodworking wood slicer blade doing that. The lathe does sometimes get bogged down. It does just fine on smaller turning projects like pens, bottle stoppers, bottle openers and things of that nature, but when you try to do something larger it does feel under powered. I hope that helps! 🙂

  20. Got Wood Workshop

    Thank you, I appreciate it!

  21. Nice vid. subscribed. looking forward to future vids!

  22. I haven’t heard anyone mention Osage orange in years. I had a farm 25 years ago with about 10 trees along a fence line. It’s the toughest wood I know. And the fruit that falls to the ground is nasty! But the slice of wood you showed was beautiful. Good luck and thanks.

  23. excellent video.I found it very helpful.im in the middle of rearranging my small shop. Thanks for the tour.I just subscribed to your channel.Best regards on your wedding also☺

  24. +Brian Marcum thank you for the support! I’m glad you were able to find it helpful! 🙂

  25. +Gary Williams thank you for watching! Osage is a beautiful wood and nice to work with, especially turning it! That’s where I got mine, the guy was going to burn about 15 trees he had downed and I was able to save quite a bit of it

  27. so weird story, i bought a set of harbor freight chisels and then a dollar store oil stone, after about ten minutes it was shaving cross grain of iron wood
i have no idea wtf the put in there chisels

  28. WTF !!

  29. Mark Barbosa Is that a good thing?

  30. This is , strangely , the best tour I have watched , honest , straight down the line and no BS. This guy has bought tools that work , not the ultimate must have , no sponsors just things that do what he needs , love it , quite refreshing , great video , thanks

  31. rodney watson Wow, thank you very much! I really appreciate it! I’ll have another one of the new shop at the beginning of the year and hope you like that one just as much!

  32. Great vid, like me I try to find things that I can use without spending a ton of money…

  33. Nice Shop mate. Thanks for explaining what you do with each tool because that information comes in handy.

  34. I like the drawer cabinet you made. Do you have a printable plan for it?

  35. Belated comment – nice tour, well rounded shop. 3 comments: 1. Dude, you are a Black Friday Warrior! Love it. 2. Love your “wall of shame” (not judging, i have my own knucklehead moments) but its good to have reminders of lapses in judgement or concentration so we don’t repeat the same mistakes. 3. No need to apologize for the “F word”- yes when you see the price you wonder how is that possible sand how it could be worth it. I’ve got a ton of Festool and every tool I own blows me away like your ETS 150 did to you. They’re all like that. Cry once, love it for life.

  36. Sorry if you mentioned this, but what is the size of your shop? Enjoyed the tour, thank you!

  37. Miles Kushin Im glad you liked it! This shop I don’t have anymore I moved into a house and have a larger shop now, but this one was 12′ x 24′

  38. Try wrapping some electrical tape on the shaft of the band saw light to stiffen it up a bit.
